Good info, Sootch. I was always concerned that the baggage handlers may help themselves to my handgun. Nice to know that's not the case.

New subscriber but long time TNP fan. Keep up the great work. I heard from one of my shooting buds that he had issues with the New York Port Authority. He went to a competition in NY and followed the TSA and the Airlines regulations. Had no problems going to NY, but when he went to leave, NY Port Authority seized his firearms stating that he could not transport across Stateline. It cost him $1000’s of dollars in lawyer fees to get his guns back from them. Just something to keep in mind.

Interesting video. I've always wondered about the subject. Salt Lake is a good airport, flown into and out of there a few times. I don't imagine they would give you any trouble there, or in NC for that matter.

I flew to California a couple of times with handguns and WITH high cap magazines for the Steel Challenge. It was quite easy and eventless with pretty much the experience Sooch had. Only rule was I could NOT sell my high cap mags in California. Also with ammo, as in my case I needed more ammo for the match than I could fly with. You can always ship your ammo to your destination if you have to. I shipped to the hotel but made arrangements first so they knew it was coming.

@FirearmsARTechnition Was that a death threat you just made to Jish1284? I have no clue what the previous onversation was about but that's a good way to get your channel suspended quick, and in servere instances you could be charged with a crime. You would be wise to avoid speaking in such a manner.

It is best to use a hard case other than a rifle/firearm case. Many firearms are stolen from the airport staff when you use a noticeable rifle/firearm case. Use a hard golf bag case. Much less chance of theft using this type of case. :-)

I will offer this ... ( 2 months ago by sheba106)
I will offer this little tip. If the lock box your putting your firearm in has more than one locking point(for padlock), put a lock on each locking point.
I was traveling with a small box with one pistol in it. The case had two locations for locks, but I had only one lock on it. The Airline agent called TSA over and TSA said each locking point must have a lock on it. It was not a problem, I just bought another lock at one of the airport stores.
Thats another thing ... ( 2 months ago by sheba106)
Thats another thing. I see people mistakingly putting TSA locks on the firearm box. NO!!!! Do not put a TSA on the firearm box!!! Get your own lock, either key or combo lock. NO ONE, even TSA, should have access to your gun. If TSA needs to recheck, they need to get you to unlock the firearms case!
One final thing.... ... ( 2 months ago by sheba106)
One final thing.....lol. Airline agents make this mistake all the time. The firearm declaration tag goes INSIDE the pistol/rifle case. NOT outside case and especially NOT on outer luggage case. If you get a pissy no it all airline agent who demands otherwise, ask for a supervisor and/or TSA.

@sootch00 Its pretty pathetic that even at a highly secure installation like an airport firearms can go missing. The TSA is a joke, Walmart greeters with badges. Thanks for the info sootch!

I have to get one of those Law books ASAP, But I'm Heading to Utah (Nebraska) in 2 weeks, you had handguns in your case when you traveled. Did you need gun license to carry there. I was planning on shooting with a friend and wanted to bring my LCP and SR9. I understand and watched video. But tips for laws on the ground. Thanks Again !!!!!!!!!!!! Also I will be staying about 15 Minutes From Cabelas :-)
@DeltaForceTrooper ... ( 4 days ago by jsh1284)
@DeltaForceTrooper There's nothing wrong with airsoft. What I have a problem with is airsoft people acting like what they do is relevant to real shooting. They use their fake guns as data points with which to compare them with real guns. It's sad. I don't know why airsoft and COD people try to talk guns. You need to own at least ONE real gun before you go spouting off with your extensive firearms knowledge. If you are an airsofter and you go try to play with the big boys .. it looks stupid.
